Antioch Historical Museum Mural

NEW! Antioch Historical Society Museum Mural

Old Smokie has left us but his locomotive legacy and his love for Antioch continues with a large mural he had painted on the backside wall of the museum. He was a train conductor that's him on the left with the lamp. I talked to him on several occasions when he was at the museum. He was always eager to try and answer any question he could about Antioch. He will be missed and remembered. I have more pictures of the mural but why not visit the museum and see for yourself some Weds or Sat afternoon between 1-4PM. Free admission.

Mama's Favorite Recipes

pasta with clams

Janet Castiglione's Clam Linguine

On Sunday my friend Carol Calvin cooked up one of her mother's favorite recipes. I ooh'd a ahh'd enough she gave me the recipe. I assure you I will be making this at home very soon. A couple tips, one stir your pasta a lot when cooking. This is allows the starch to separate itself from the pasta, so you don't end up with sticky pasta, and two if you mix your sauce and pasta together put a lid on it for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving.

Do you have a Mama's Favorite Recipe you would like to share? Send it to me with a photo (if possible) and I will give it a try. If it turns out well I'll share it in an upcoming issue of the SPOTLIGHT.
