I can't tell you how much of a thrill it is to watch this young man play. Thirty years of dismal football might be overstating but it sure is fun to go watch your old team kick butt. A new football field, great vibe (always present when you are winning) and a chance to see amazing plays one after another has me giddy. I get a senior ticket for $5 and two $2 lemonades. That's a lot of entertainment for $9. See the highlights from just last Friday's game. For most backs this is a whole season of highlights in one game. Simply amazing. I pray he stays healthy for years to come. 2015 Panther Football schedule.

About 1976 Pat & Paulino (pictured above) opened Paulino's Italian Restaurant in the old Vetrano's location near Blu's on 2nd street in downtown Antioch. They used to advertise with me when I was a rookie at the Antioch Ledger newspaper. I liked the lasagna and the garlic bread and ate their regularly. I'd like to try it again but I would have to go to South Padre Island, Texas now.
Apparently after a few years they bought the building up the street. Around 1990 they left for Texas for family reasons. They kept the building, which caught fire last month. They were in town to secure the building this week. I don't know if they plan to repair and rent but I suppose they plan to make it ready to sell and sell it and get back to Texas.
It was nice to see them again after nearly 40 years.
