Locke, CA
Peggy and I took a drive up the river road recently to Locke, CA. It's a 30-45 minute drive from East County. When you look at the buildings your amazed they are still standing. I have no idea how you could ever sell one of these buildings. They would never pass any kind of inspection but it is neat to walk through the old shops, have something to eat and pickup some souvenirs. I'm going to suggest this place as a PHOTO OP event to the Antioch Photography Club. I think they will get a kick out of it. See next Thursday's SPOTLIGHT and see who the big winners are at Lone Tree Golf and Event Center "photo op" contest.

RON PARISH (far right) is the general manager at Lone Tree Golf & Event Center. Ron, welcomed our photography club with open arms. We ate from a delicious buffet and he took us on a guided tour of the golf course (so we could take our pictures). I think we are all grateful for the hospitality of his entire staff. I guess when you host 300 plus events a year you know how to show people a good time. We are truly lucky to have him at our own public golf course. I have always said "You don't have to be a golfer to love this place."
