This is the entry to the ANTIOCH SPORTS LEGENDS MUSEUM. Many people have helped Tom Menasco and Eddie Beaudin make this happen but nobody has done more to make this the special place it is. I'm proud to say I did the original logo, brochures and website. Just seeing the logo on the floor is thank you enough. Open Weds & Sats 1-4 PM and it's free.

Cocktail Break @ Celia's
After a grueling round of golf I stopped at Celia's Mexican Food Restaurant, Antioch, for a snack before Monday's Warrior's vs Grizzlie's game. It was also the agave tequila finals. The tequila on the left is Tesoro (cache of gold in Spanish) and Tres Celebrations on the right. No self respecting judge would conduct a judging without a proper palate cleanser. That's were the Negro Modelo beer and appetizer plate came in... total $20 with tip. The tequila finals are tied 1-1. Muchas gracias Juan.

Contra Costa Open Studio Tour This Weekend
One of my favorite events every year. I love to meet local artists in their studios and see their work up and close and personal. The gal who is the organizer is Nancy Roberts. I know of no one who works harder at her craft. From teaching small children how to paint, judging art contests, taking art classes weekly herself for many years. She definetly has developed her own unique style. Like it or not it's Nancy's and I can spot it a mile away. I can't think of a nicer compliment to say to an artist. See you this weekend, Nancy. The painting above is titled "Moonlight Sonata" and is painted by Nancy Roberts a local treasure and it may be for sale this weekend like most of the art on display this weekend. Buy a painting and support a local artist's if you can, they make our lives richer.

Mother's Day BBQ With My Brother Greg
Mom would have been pleased with Greg's Mother's Day BBQ. He slow cooked Tri-Tip, Pork Tenderloin (in some sweet & sour marinade), added grill marks to his taters and pineapple wedges and generally went all out. His daughter in-law Megan likes to pitch in with the fellas and she is a lot fun. That's her on the left with Greg doing the tending. Me? I make sure we have plenty of beer and ice.
FIREBALL WHISKEY meh!
I few months ago I heard that Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey was the fastest growing distilled spirit in America. Ahead of established brands like Seagrams 7, Bacardi, Smirnoff, Patron. Typically I would have rushed out to try it after hearing this but for some reason didn't. Well thanks to Lou and James, a couple golfing buddies, I got to try it free yesterday for the first time. Meh, I was not impressed. It's just not for me. But you folks go right ahead. Did you know that this brand is on recall in Norway & Sweden for exceeding the limit of propylene glycol? I recommend you drink something else Makers Mark or Jim Beam are excellent whiskies. Consider this my public service announcement for the week.
