Lunch with Jeanette

Lunch with Jeanette is never boring but always starts the same way. "Where do you want to go?" she says. For the uninitiated, it's just her way of being polite.

After years of restaurant suggestion rejections, I just laugh now, and ask her "where are we going?"

She says "Melo's" and the discussions over. I immediately go into conjuring up visions of Italian food, so I can be craving something when I walk in the door.

One of the nice thing about sharing a meal with Jeanette is she waits to see what I order first and then orders something with contrast. This way we can share a bit and I get to taste something I didn't order.

Jeanette orders a drink (I didn't even know they had a bar), I tell our server, "make that two."

1st Course... Pint Size Bloody Mary artfully prepared with a lime wedge, carrot, celery, cucumber, and two queen size green olives. Very tasty about $9.50

2nd Course... Side Salad with Blue Cheese. Mixed greens, carrot, and olives served with fresh french bread and butter.

3rd Course... Gnocchi Alfredo, potato dumplings, whipping cream, butter, and romano cheese, tasty and fresh. Salad, bread, gnocchi about $11 during lunch.
