This bar has been in Antioch longer than me (more than 50 years). I still stop by, 701 A St, Antioch. At one time I think there were 50 bars downtown. Now we only have a handful. Some people would call that progress. I miss going downtown and making the rounds. You can't do that it in Pittsburg or Oakley either. You can still do it in Brentwood. The last bastion of civilization.

I hear this mural may be lost forever to progress. The mural is at Hugo's on 10th St., in Antioch. I like to stop by this place with my cigar smoking buddy's and enjoy the patio. I heard a rumor this mural is going to be changing soon (see the steps, middle bottom?) there will be a door there soon leading to a new "Club Room?" I hate losing the mural it dresses up the place. Maybe they will paint a new one on after the door is in? I'd like to meet the artist who did it. If you know drop me an email Frank
