The Top Running Back In CA And #4 In The Country Is A Sophomore @ Antioch High School

Antioch High School football star Najee Harris has orally committed to the University of Alabama, his mother, Tianna Hicks, confirmed early Monday afternoon.

Harris, a 6-foot-2, 209-pound running back, rushed for 2,263 yards, averaged 205.7 yards per game, and scored 23 touchdowns during his fantastic sophomore season in 2014. He broke the school record for rushing yards in a game with 371 on 30 carries despite not playing the last six minutes of a 50-26 North Coast Section Division I first-round playoff game.

Harris has a five-star rating and is ranked as the top California high school running back and fourth nationally from the 2017 class according to rivals.com. Cal, Michigan, Oklahoma State, TCU, UCLA and USC are among the many schools besides Alabama that have made a scholarship offer to Harris, according to espn.com.

Hicks confirmed that Harris made his decision during an unofficial visit to Alabama for the team's A-Day game.

Publishers' note, how is this kid is still playing in Antioch? I would have thought De La Salle would be sending a limo to pick this boy up everyday for school. If he is still playing here this fall I will have to go see a game.

You Can Still Get A Beer Sampler in East County

With beer weather here I to taste some fresh brewed beer. With Schooner's taking their fresh brewed beer to the wholesale market I didn't have a place to go. But, EJ PHAIR is a brewing company in Pittsburg. They make about 10 beers. You can try 5 of them, in little glasses, for $8. I like this. From left to right Ditzy Blonde, a refreshing ale, Plankwalker pale ale, Dyn-O-Mite hoppy red ale, Silly Horse IPA, and Barrel Shortage a strong ale is what I choose. I enjoyed the Ditzy Blonde the most. Go figure it out for yourself it's nice to be able to do this in East County.
