The Best Cheeseburger in East County?
This photo was posted recently. I asked folks to tell me "what's the best cheeseburger in East County?" Two burgers were clear favorites. Fast food, sit down franchises, were hardly mentioned, shock to me. The two clear choices were Hazels and the New Beer Garden (pictured above) both in downtown Antioch. I prefer the New Beer Garden. The first thing I notice is the ground beef (and it's NOT greasy and salty) followed by the taste of two slices of melted american cheese. That's what I want when I order a cheeseburger. Most Friday's I have lunch there with friends and nobody ever complains. What is YOUR FAVORITE CHEESEBURGER in East County?

Not so fast. For the last eight years The Antioch Historical Society Museum has added 14 individual people and one team into the Antioch Sports Legends Museum. The voting is done for this year. I just don't know the results yet. When I know you will know. Lets take another look at the inductee class of 2014. The photo above was taken at the INDUCTION GALA held at Lone Tree Golf & Event Center, Antioch. How many do you know?

Mac's Old House
I have always liked this photo of Mac's Old House. I stumbled across it and thought I would share it. Maybe you are new in east county and haven't found this place yet. It's not fancy but it's nice. It's not expensive but the food is good. The place is busy so the service isn't fast but it's very good. It's Mac's and I live just down the street (happy face icon goes here).
